Pricing And Commercialization Working Group
The Working Group will assist the PMU in the planning and in the overseeing of the works related to the concerned field. The Working Groups will prepare draft modality and working procedure for their group and conduct with PMU approval.
The overall responsibility of the pricing and commercialization working group will be to study pertinent pricing, copy right and commercial issues in the context of widespread sharing of digital geographic information. The group will recommend for appropriate new arrangements regarding these issues. The group will also investigate a long term NGII funding model in Nepal.
A more specific responsibility of the group will be as follows:
- Study and review the pricing policy (both analog and digital) that exists in each of the agencies.
- Develop new pricing schemes
- Study and identify the issues related with the copying of the digital data and come out with a draft report on appropriate copyright policy.
- Draft a policy on government-private-civil society partnership to encourage widespread use of geographic information in the society.
